  • The port facilities within the jurisdiction of CN APDM SA Galați are subject to the control from the port authority regarding the manner in which the provisions of the ISPS Code are abided.
  • The inspectors of the port authority CN APDM SA Galați will verify the existence and validity of the Declarations of conformity of the port facilities as well as the fact that those port facilities operate at the established degree of security. If the port authority has information on deficiencies in the operation of the port facility security management system, if the economic operator operating a port facility changes, or when changes are made to the port facility security plan, the port authority is entitled to request that an appropriate additional inspection be carried out. If the port authority finds major issues in the operation of the port facility security management system, then it shall suspend the Declaration of Conformity of a port facility until it is remedied or even cancel the Declaration of Conformity of a port facility if the remediation cannot be performed. In this case, the port authority will no longer approve the pilot permit and will no longer issue a berthing permit to the port facility that has the Declaration of Conformity of a suspended or canceled port facility until it returns to normal. The suspension will be canceled only on the basis of an external audit. The port authorities, through their specialized inspectors, control and monitor the activities at the port ship interface and take operative measures necessary to protect commercial interests and secure port operations.
  • Policies in the field of marine security have evolved both internationally and at the level of national legislation. In this sense, Romania accepted by GEO 80/2003 the amendments to the SOLAS 1974 annex (International Convention for the Protection of Life at Sea) as well as the provisions of the ISPS Code (International Code for the Security of Ships and Port Facilities) adopted at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Conference. in London between 9-13 December 2002, approved by Law 484/2003 and the Methodological Norms for the application of GEO 80/2003, approved by GD no. 248/2004.

  • By the Decision of the Board of Directors of CN APDM SA Galati from 16.01 / 2006, the Port Security Office of the port authority (Local Point) was established, which together with the empowered auditors of CN APDM SA Galati has as object of activity the implementation and monitoring of ISPS Code.
